We all know that a lipstick can be our very own magic wand that can help us cast a spell on
the world and leave everyone entranced! It’s handy and easy to use, making it one of the most preferred beauty products commonly found in a woman’s handbag! Know that vibrant, neat and luscious lips are the product of a well-defined application method and of course a high-quality lipstick!
Lipstick is one of my favourite cosmetic products and I love experimenting with different colours and finishes. So ladies, over the years I noticed that a few minor mistakes can result in a shabby lipstick job and can ruin your look completely. So to help you out, I have compiled a list of common mistakes we all make that can easily be avoided to give you perfect lips effortlessly!
Here are 5 common mistakes that we all make but can avoid to ace that lipstick game:
- Skipping exfoliation
Flaky lips don’t allow for smooth lipstick application and often result in a look that you may regret later. So instead, the easiest way to exfoliate your lips is by using a sugar scrub to remove flakes and lend a clean look to your lips. You can also use a lip balm after this step to infuse some much-needed moisture.
- Not using a lip liner
Get a flawless finish by using the right lip liner that matches your lipstick. Your lipstick liner can be slightly darker than your lipstick colour and a simple outline is all you need to avoid any bleeds during the day. You can also fill in a little to ensure long lasting lipstick and avoid the hassles of any touch-ups! If you are looking for a lip liner, I recommend using The ONE Colour Stylist Lip Liner which has a creamy formula and glides on my lips with peak precision. So go ahead and get one now!
- Ignoring the inner corners
Since we are always in a hurry, we often forget to apply lipstick on the inner corners making the coverage look incomplete and lacking finesse. Instead, start from the inner corners and glide your way up to the centre, thus ensuring a flawless finish without any gaps.
- Not using powder to set your lipstick
Most of us often skip this step and then have to bear the annoyance of touch ups several times during the day. Instead, blot excess lipstick with a tissue paper and then dust some translucent powder on your lips to set the lipstick and make it last all day.
- Using a poor quality lipstick
Cheap and poor quality lipsticks don’t allow for a smooth application and often result in an untidy finish. In extreme cases, the formulation can also be harmful for your lips. So instead of opting for multiple low priced lipsticks, I recommend investing in a few high quality lipsticks in your favourite colours for an impeccable finish. For instance, I use Oriflame’s The ONE Colour Unlimited Lipstick which has a matte finish and comes in a variety of shades! I urge you to try it now!
So avoid these mistakes and pout boldly for that fiery selfie without any worries! Also, don’t forget to share your experience in the comments section below.
