Lately, I’ve heard a lot of my friends complain about their stressful days. Their constant juggle between their demanding jobs and their personal lives often takes a toll on them and their health. No wonder, a majority of women are now facing health problems such as diabetes, obesity, recurring headaches etc. Is this sounding familiar to you? It’s time you take steps for a healthier you with my perfect morning ritual that my friends and I religiously follow. Trust me, within a few weeks, you will start seeing the results and will love every bit of it. So, here’s my ritual.
- Give your day an early start
Yes, I know, we all value extra sleep time. I would always snooze my alarm and gift myself 15 more minutes of sleep. What we don’t realize is, when we delay wake-up time, we end up rushing ourselves to complete morning duties and stressing ourselves. The ideal thing would be to go to bed early and wake up an hour before “Get Ready” time, giving you more “Me time”. We need about 7-8 hours of uninterrupted sleep, so schedule sleep timings that best suit you. Your body clock will slowly adjust to the early start and will thank you for it.
- Detox your system
Mornings are the best time to cleanse your system. It keeps you healthy through the day, ensuring that unwanted health issues don’t hamper your work. The best detox drink is a
glass of warm water with freshly squeezed lemon juice. It aids digestion, weight-loss and supplies a much needed dose of vitamin C. Go ahead and make your glass of hot lemon water.
- Schedule your day
Say goodbye to stressful days! The more organized you are, it keeps you ready for extra challenges through the day. List down your tasks and arrange them according to priority. It will leave you with so much more time for yourself at the end of the day.
- Get stretching
Exercise not only helps keep our body fit, it also helps keeps the momentum going for the day. If you’re not a fan of traditional workouts, try yoga, a walk around the apartment block or a 15 minute dance session to your favourite song. Trust me, you will love the results you see after a week.
- Eat a superfood breakfast
After a great workout, it’s time to feed your hungry stomach with a king-sized breakfast. You can whip up an oatmeal porridge with your favourite fruits and dry fruits in it or rava idli with some yummy coconut chutney with a glass of milk or green tea. If you are bored with your ordinary breakfast, there are many online websites that give ordinary recipes a tasty twist.
Now that you know the secret to perfect health, make it your ritual too! I would love to hear how the morning ritual has helped you.
Stay healthy, girls!
